The Retro Chic Camper has arrived!
Editor's Note: While this new camper is a bit larger than we would normally cover, we have chosen to distribute this press release due to nuCamp's impact in the teardrop and tiny camper industry.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE from nuCamp
The long-awaited and much-anticipated Barefoot has been released to the North American Market.
Sugarcreek, Ohio. February 1, 2023 – nuCamp, a major manufacturer of campers and teardrop trailers,
announces the newest product has started rolling off the production lines. On December 5 th , the long-awaited much-anticipated fiberglass camper started in full production at nuCamp.
The Barefoot is a unique, nostalgic travel camper featuring a spacious interior for a touch of luxury on the road. A curvy fiberglass body and a free-flowing layout make up this gem. With a seaglass-colored body and retro design, the Barefoot will make a statement and is a perfect choice for those who love glamping.
In 2019, nuCamp announced their partnership with the British-based Barefoot Caravans. This agreement granted nuCamp exclusive rights to manufacture and sell the Barefoot in North America. At the beginning of 2020, nuCamp began the work to “Americanize” the UK version. That process took two years, a bit longer than
anticipated due to COVID shutdowns and supply chain issues. In 2021 and 2022, unit prototypes were unveiled at the Florida RV Supershow and Hershey RV Show. In December, the first unit rolled off the production line and was used at the official product launch held at Princess Craft RV in Austin, Texas.
This retro-looking camper is eye-catching and unique to anything available in the American market. The one-
piece fiberglass shell and unique egg shape stands out from the crowd. As you would expect, the Barefoot comes equipped with all the nuCamp signature components, like the Alde heating and hot water system, central AC, and the Nautilus water management system.
With the Barefoot, you can camp in both style and comfort. Stepping inside the unit, you’ll be greeted with a light and airy interior. This 16-foot trailer is packed with all the amenities you need. The kitchen has a sink, two burner stove, and a refrigerator. The Barefoot has a spacious dinette that easily converts into a comfortable bed. This tiny trailer also has a wet bath, including a cassette toilet, a custom-designed sink, and a shower. The Barefoot has multiple storage options, so you can bring all the essentials. There’s overhead storage with beautiful opaque sliding doors, under the dinette storage, a wardrobe inside the door, a medicine-style cabinet, and a hidden wine rack. Throughout the unit, there is an open, chic, and retro feel to the unit that you won’t find in other campers.
nuCamp CEO Scott Hubble said, “Our goal was to take the beautiful UK Barefoot and transition it to the US
market. We wanted to maintain the look and feel of the unit all while adding in components and features the
North American market has come to think of as a standard.” Hubble adds, “The high quality you have come to
expect with all the nuCamp products will be no exception with the Barefoot. This is an incredibly unique product we are sure you will love.”
